Nauvoo Restored Homes and Buildings

Nauvoo HomesNauvoo has many restored homes that belonged to the early Saints who settled Nauvoo. Careful attention has been paid to historical details. As you tour each home, you will see furniture and other items from the period, some of it original to the home owners. If you are travelling with children, some of the homes have special activity sheets to keep kids busy looking for specific items during the home tour ("I Spy" style). Just ask a missionary as you enter the home.

Guided Nauvoo Home Tours

The home tours are guided. Your tour guide will give you information about the home and its owners. If you come to Nauvoo during a slow time (October - March), you may have more flexibility in asking the missionaries to tailor the tour to the needs of your group (more detail vs. quick overview).

Some homes not to miss are the beautiful Heber C. Kimball Home (he lived here for just over 60 days between missions and church business that kept him away before heading west with the pioneers), Brigham Young's Home (where the exodus west was planned in detail), and Wilford Woodfruf's Home.
